It is sometimes difficult for businesses
to run in house training programs for key staff whose role does not allow them
the time to attend. To meet this need, I provide individual 1/1 coaching.
Many companies wish to invest in their staff welfare which has tangible
benefits of staff retention, but the individual may not suit a group environment
due to;
A/ His or her position within the company
B/ The perceived stigma of being singled
out
This is a delicate process that often
involves office politics and the individuals reaction may be one of feeling
victimised rather than helped. A personal coaching intervention with myself overcomes
these difficulties by making the individual feel valued by the company with a personal,
confidential approach
What do I do?
It begins with an informal assessment of
the needs of the individual ,taking the needs of the orgainisation into
account.
This is achieved through a series of
carefully designed series of questions in order to fully understand any issues
the attendee is experiencing. I then make an initial assessment of the form the
coaching will take. Either behavioral based or Therapeutic or both.
I then agree to meet with the individual
for one or two hours per session, for a maximum of four sessions. During these sessions
I teach the essential theory of stress management and coach the individual in
dealing with stress by altering his/her perception of it, and giving them tools
and techniques which they can effectively use in the workplace.
In the final session I follow up on what
has been learnt and assess if there are any outstanding issues. I undertake a review
of the success of the coaching protocol and make any further recommendations
